Available in mechanical and electronic options, Sargent exit devices offer versatility for different security needs. The mechanical is the most common type of exit device and utilizes a rod mounted on the door's surface that connects to the top and bottom of the door frame these are called top latch and bottom latch assemblies. 

During an emergency, pushing the bar against the door triggers the latching mechanism that unlocks the door, allowing for safe egress. 

The electrified options provide extra control and can be configured for fail-safe or fail-secure operation at 12VDC Or 24VDC Voltage, electric dogging, electric latch retraction, and request to exit for access control applications.

When power is on, depending on the configuration, pressing the bar or using a credential unlocks the door. You can use a keypad, key fob, or another actuating device for access.
