Sargent 8876-J-ETL-24V Rim Exit Device, 24V Fail Secure, L-Lever, Power off Unlocks Lever Key retracts Latch, 37-42 Inch Door, Less Cylinder, No Dogging, Grade 1
The Sargent 8876-J-ETL-24V Rim Exit Device is designed for 37-42 inch doors and is compatible with the 76 Electrified ET Trim. It features a 24V Fail Secure mechanism and an L-Lever that allows the lever to be unlocked in case of power failure. The lever can also retract the latch using a key. This Grade 1 device does not require a cylinder and does not have a dogging option.

What does "fail-secure" mean for the Sargent 8876-J-ETL-24V Rim Exit Device?
Fail-secure means the outside lever remains locked when power is on, but unlocks during a power outage, allowing free exit. A key can retract the latchbolt even when electronically locked.
