Construction
Door Panel: The door features a 1/4" thick outer shell made from Cross-Linked High Density Polyethylene (X-LINK HDPE), which is five times stronger than ABS. This material ensures maximum durability and impact resistance, maintaining its properties down to -40°F. The overall thickness of the panel is 1-7/8”.
Insulated Core: The core of the door panel is filled with CFC-Free urethane foam, which is foamed in place to bond permanently with the inner surface of the door panel. This foam prevents breakdown upon impact and provides excellent insulation (R Factor of 10.83) along with sound attenuation properties.
Internal Reinforcement: The door features an upper V-Cam Hinge System and a lower hinge pillow block construction with a UHMW sleeve and a solid cast aluminum adapter for enhanced durability.
High Density Polyethylene Spring Bumpers: These 38” high bumpers made of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) protect the door panel from impacts. They include a 4” teardrop projection that absorbs impact energy and returns to its original position post-compression.
Full Perimeter Gasketing: The door includes durable gasketing applied without metal strips or fasteners, simplifying field replacement. Frame-mounted header seals are also provided to seal the top of the door.
Upper Hinge System: This system features a solid cast aluminum Upper Hinge Post and a zinc-plated ductile iron V-Cam with a UHMW sleeve, ensuring smooth and reliable operation. The roller assembly includes a permanently lubricated needle bearing for longevity and minimal maintenance.
Bottom Hinge: Constructed from solid cast aluminum, the lower hinge post operates within a heavy-duty pillow block with a UHMW sleeve for dependable performance. This hinge can be fitted with an optional spring assist for applications requiring resistance to high drafts.
Additional USPS Security Features:
- Upper and Lower Cane Bolts
- 2” Lock Sleeve
- Double glazed, 1/8” thick recessed polycarbonate windows with three internal steel security bars spaced on 7” centers
- Tamper-resistant fasteners ensure added security and peace of mind.
